We're working with a long-standing client who is looking to appoint a Collections Team Leader
to oversee their commercial collections function. This is a key leadership role within a well-established credit team, and a great opportunity for someone who knows how to manage people and processes in a B2B environment.
They’re looking for someone who is confident handling commercial debt, can lead a small but capable team, and is comfortable dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
About the role:
You’ll be responsible for day-to-day leadership of the collections team, ensuring aged debt is well-managed and that the team is hitting performance targets. There’s also a strong focus on coaching and development, and the client is looking for someone who can bring a proactive, people-first approach.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting a team of commercial collections officers
- Managing performance across a B2B collections portfolio
- Handling escalations and complex account issues
- Reporting on collections activity and aged debt performance
- Working closely with finance, legal, and sales teams
- Driving process improvement and team development
- Experience in commercial collections or credit control
- Previous team leadership experience
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Sound understanding of credit risk and collections processes
- Comfortable with reporting and managing target
