PRESTIGIOUS GLOBAL DIGITAL MARKETING AGENCY LOOKING FOR AN OUTSTANDING AND EXPERIENCED MEDIA DIRECTOR
The largest digital marketing agency in the world ?(global) is looking for an outstanding and experienced MEDIA DIRECTOR.
The Media Director reports to the Managing Director and is responsible for the continued excellence and improvement of the agency’s digital marketing businesses. The Media Director is required to apply imagination to the evolving and fragmenting media landscape and is responsible for media, electronic direct marketing, mobile and other emerging digital technologies, and channels to maximise media revenue across the business.
The position sits on the organisation’s management team and requires a highly creative thinker with existing relationships in the Australasian media industry.
Full P&L management of the media area as well as team management makes this role highly autonomous, allowing for entrepreneurial flair to grow new and existing business opportunities. Supporting the client service team to ensure the best possible advertising solutions are proposed to clients, and managing a team working specifically on campaign-based projects, are also functions to ensure continued excellence and improvement of media planning, buying and optimisation processes.
Skills/qualifications
- Minimum 7 years media and 5 years management experience, primarily digital
- Tertiary qualifications preferred in business, IT, media or marketing
- Strong understanding of marketing principles and execution
- Thorough understanding of web-based technologies and their application to business problems
- Strong internal and external client management skills
- Highly organised, detail-oriented with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and follow-through in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to motivate and lead a young and enthusiastic team
- Demonstrated senior media negotiation skills
- An understanding of online & offline research resources such as Dart, Nielsen NetRatings, Roy Morgan, Jupiter, user profiling and statistics packages
- Creative and non-formulated approach to media planning
- Ability to understand and deliver real return on clients media investment
- Creative approach to management and growth
- Excellent analytical, presentation and communication skills
- Experience managing online media planning and buying.
- Experience in online search marketing (although not a function of the role)
- Experience developing integrated marketing strategies
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing strategic direction with the planning and execution of online media strategies
- Analysing, interpreting and presenting client and industry data with insight
- Working with the Account Directors to identify online media objectives and create strategies and tactics to meet client objectives
- Continuing the development of the company’s online media planning expertise and reputation
- PProviding guidance to project and account managers to continually improve the quality of solutions provided to clients
- Pro-actively presenting new ideas and leading media planning efforts with clients to strengthen and promote long-term relationships and expand the digital advertising opportunities as they currently exist
- Negotiating with publisher and research organisation(s) whilst maintaining strong relationships
- Maintaining high level of knowledge on emergent advertising platforms
- Growing the media billings of the company
- Participating in new business opportunities for integrated campaigns
- Accurate forecasting of revenue
- Performing financial and budget analysis as needed
- Mentoring the media team
- Staff reviews and performance appraisals
- Identify and manage, with the Human Resources Manager, training requirements for team members
- Ensuring that duties, responsibilities & accountability of all direct reports are defined and understood
- Attending client and organisational meetings as necessary
- Ensuring all administration requirements are met by Media Department including but not limited to media plans, time keeping systems, estimates, invoicing, forecasts and billings
- Participation in the development of organisational standards
- Responsible for profitability of campaigns through budget management, hourly time tracking and reporting
